Breaking Point

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 11 October 2026

Breaking Point (“we”, “the site”) is a free website for practising consulting case interviews. This policy explains what information the site collects, why, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

When you sign in with Google

We receive the basic profile information Google shares with your permission: your name, email address and profile photo. We also record when you created your account and when you last signed in. We do not receive your Google password, and we do not access your Gmail, contacts, Drive or any other Google data.

When you visit the site

To understand how the site is used, we record page views. Each record contains a random identifier stored in your browser, the page you viewed, the website that referred you (if any), your device type (mobile, tablet or desktop), your timezone, your browser language and the time of the visit. If you are signed in, the visit is linked to your account. We do not store your IP address and we do not use cookies for this. If your browser sends a “Do Not Track” signal, page views are not recorded.

Your practice progress

When you are signed in, your practice progress (mock interview scores, maths drill results and levels, firm prep plans and your chosen interviewer style) is saved to your account so you can see it on any device. Only you can access it. If you use the site without signing in, nothing you do is saved.

Information stored only on your device

If you use AI Mode, your Gemini API key stays in your browser and is never sent to us. It is removed from the browser when you sign out; if you are not signed in, it is kept only until you close the tab.

How we use information

  • To sign you in and keep you signed in.
  • To understand which pages and features are used, so we can improve the site.
  • To keep the site secure and prevent misuse.

We do not sell your information, share it with advertisers, or use it for advertising.

Services we rely on

  • Supabase stores account and page-view records and handles sign-in.
  • Google provides “Sign in with Google”. If you use AI Mode, your messages are sent directly from your browser to Google’s Gemini API using your own API key, under Google’s terms; they do not pass through our systems.
  • GitHub Pages hosts the website.

These providers may process technical data such as IP addresses in their own server logs as part of delivering their services, under their own privacy policies.

Who can see your information

Account and page-view records are protected by access rules: other users cannot see them. Only the site administrator can view the list of accounts and usage statistics.

How long we keep information

We keep account information while your account exists and page-view records for as long as they are useful for understanding site usage. Information stored on your device stays there until you clear it.

Your choices

  • You can use most of the site’s content without creating an account, where guest access is available.
  • You can sign out at any time from the account menu.
  • You can reset your saved progress at any time from the Progress page.
  • You can remove the site’s access to your Google account at any time at myaccount.google.com/connections.
  • You can stop page views from being recorded by enabling “Do Not Track” in your browser.

Children

The site is intended for university students and job seekers. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
